In an exclusive interview with Jonny Bubbles of RESHOEVN8R, Phoenix Suns forward Cam Johnson was asked about his top five sneakers of all time.

As a self proclaimed sneakerhead, 6'8 forward was blessed with the opportunity to play college basketball at the University of North Carolina. Naturally his time at UNC helped to shape a lot of his top five list, but Cam also gave us some insights into how his childhood impacted his love for certain sneakers, too.

We won’t keep you waiting any longer. Let’s go through Cam Johnson’s top five sneakers of all time.

1.

Color: White/University Blue

Style Code: MNJDLS850LN3

Release Date: Jan 11, 2018

Retail Price: N/A

Playing for Michael Jordan’s Alma Mater has its perks, and Cam’s first shoe on the list is proof of that. The UNC Air Jordan 3 is rumored to have been limited to around 250 pairs, most of them being given out to members of both the UNC basketball and football teams.

Cam has his pair stashed away for safe keeping. Not sure we’ll ever see this one make it to his feet.

2.

Color: University Blue/Cool Grey/Black

Style Code: HO12MNJDLS247

Release Date: Jan 28, 2019

Retail Price: N/A

Not surprisingly, Cam’s number two shoe is the UNC Air Jordan 4. As expected, these were extremely limited…some rumors state that there are only 23 pairs in existence. While this claim hasn’t been substantiated, it’s safe to assume that this pair of PEs isn’t one that the everyday sneakerhead can get their hands on.

Like the UNC 3s, Cam also has this pair sitting on ice, though he did mention he was tempted to pull them out during the 2021 NBA Finals.

A similar pair of UNC themed Jordan 4s did release to the general public in March of 2021, but as Cam says, their PE is a “much nicer version.”

3.

Color: White/Dark Powder Blue/Cone

Style Code: AQ0818-148

Release Date: June 23, 2018

Retail Price: $190

Keeping with the Carolina Blue theme, it’s only fitting that the Off-White AJ1 “UNC” made Cam’s list of his top sneakers of all time. Despite this pair not being a player exclusive, they’re still hard to come by…you’re going to have to shell out close to $3000 to get your hands on a pair.

To complete the Off-White vibe, Cam had his teammate write “CAM” on the midsole of his pair in typical Virgil Abloh fashion.

4.

Color: Black/Varsity Royal/White

Style Code: 378037-041

Release Date: Dec 23, 2009

Retail Price: $175

Space Jam was Cam’s favorite movie growing up, so it’s no wonder that one of his top shoes of all time is the Space Jam Jordan 11. Interestingly, Cam is specifically partial to the pair that released back in 2009, rather than the most recent release in 2016.

Admittedly, Cam bought his pair used off of someone, so they're pretty beat. But he does have a pair from the most recent 2016 drop just in case.

5.

Color: Black/White Cone/Black

Style Code: AO4606-001

Release Date: Dec 19, 2018

Retail Price: $170

Virgil makes the Cam’s list yet again with the Off-White AF1 in black. Cam is a big fan of these, specifically because they’re black – easy to wear, and easy to clean. This pair first launched in December of 2018, and is still one of the most sought after Off-White X Nike collaborations.

If you're gonna call yourself a sneakerhead, you've gotta have a pair of black Forces, no ands, ifs, or buts about it.

Cam's Top 5 | Recap

  • UNC Air Jordan 3 PE
  • UNC Air Jordan 4 PE
  • Off-White Air Jordan 1 "UNC"
  • Air Jordan 11 Space Jam (2009)
  • Off-White Nike Air Force 1 "Black"

And that rounds out Cam Johnson’s top five sneakers of all time. We appreciate Cam taking the time to talk kicks with us. We think he has great taste in sneakers…and we’re a little jealous of his sweet PEs.

Out of the five shoes Cam mentioned, which one would you want the most? Let us know below.
