Cleaning Suede Air Jordan 5s
Welcome back to another episode of Shoe Care Academy.
Today Jonny Bubbles is back to teach us how to clean this beautiful pair of "Bluebird" Jordan 5s. This women's only release is going to be a tricky one, because these are primarily suede.
Like any other suede sneaker, suede Air Jordans need to be cleaned with the least amount of water possible, so for this cleaning we will not be putting these through our laundry system, but rather will be using another one of our sneaker cleaning kits to take care of this dirty suede.
Let's grab our Essential Shoe Cleaning Kit and get started.

Cleaning Suede with Reshoevn8r Shoe Cleaning Solution
Now that Jonny has brushed off the loose dirt, we're ready to tackle the suede upper with the Soft Bristle Brush and Shoe Cleaning Solution.
When cleaning suede, it's of upmost importance to avoid getting it too wet, so before each scrub make sure to shake off the excess water and Solution from the brush.
After giving the suede upper a nice scrub with the Soft Bristle Brush, some tougher stains have revealed themselves. To attack the deeper stains in the suede, Jonny used the Medium Bristle Brush.
Because this brush is stiffer, you want to avoid moving it back and forth across the suede. In order to avoid messing up the material, use light strokes in one direction when using any brush stiffer than the Soft Bristle Brush.
Now that the suede is free of dirt and grime, Jonny used the Medium Bristle Brush to clean the midsole, and the Stiff Bristle Brush to clean the outsole.
The Air Jordan 5 is notorious for its icy sole. Luckily for us, the sole hasn't started yellowing yet, so no need to pull out the Reshoevn8r Sole Revive.
Reconditioning Suede Air Jordans with Mink Oil
This pair of "Bluebird' Air Jordan 5s are looking much better, but we've still got a little work left. After cleaning suede with our Shoe Cleaning Solution, it's a good idea to use our Brass Bristle Brush to reset the nap of the suede.
This will bring the soft, buttery texture of the suede back. Use the Brass Bristle Brush to lightly brush the suede until nappy once again.
The last step in restoring this suede shoe completely is our Mink Oil. This acts as a conditioner for suede and will bring back the color, especially if your suede sneakers are bleeding the color or are looking faded.
To use the Mink Oil, hold the can a few inches away from the show and spray a light coat onto the suede. Then, use a brush (we recommend our brand new Horsehair Brush) to lightly rub it into the suede until lush. If one coat isn't enough, let it dry for a few minutes and then reapply.
And there you have it. If you thought cleaning suede Air Jordans was hard, think again.
With the right sneaker cleaner and the correct shoe cleaning tools, cleaning your suede shoes at home doesn't have to be scary or hard.
Don't waste your time on shoe cleaning products that don't work. Reshoevn8r is the best sneaker cleaner in the world, and will give your suede shoes their life back.
