Can Vick Almighty Save These 'Venom' Nike SB Dunk Highs?

In this episode, Vick tries to save a COOKED pair of the Nike SB Dunk High "Venom" colorway.

Initially released in 2009, the "Venom" Nike SB Dunk High is beloved for its simple black and white look, paired with SB's signature Zoom cushioning and fat tongue.

This one will be a lot of work as nearly EVERYTHING on the shoe is trashed, from the suede parts of the upper to the Swoosh and more.

To start, Vick deconstructs the sneaker by removing the stitching and pulling the soles off. After that, Vick removes the Swoosh as well. To bring the shoe back to life, Vick uses an air compressor to remove as much filth and dirt as possible.

For this restoration, Vick uses the Reshoevn8r 8 oz. solution, the Soft and Medium Bristle Brushes, and Shoe Trees to maintain the form during the cleaning. The Soft Bristle Brush is used first to ensure that the suede, leather, and nubuck on the upper are cleaned well. Then, Vick uses the Medium Bristle Brush to clean the inside of the shoe and the insoles.

Since the shoes didn't bleed, Vick will throw them in the washer with the Reshoevn8r Laundry System Kit for a thorough cleaning. Since the pairs are absolutely beat, Vick will use two laundry pods instead of one.

To bond the new midsoles effectively, Vick removes the old glue with the Dremmel and sandpaper to prep them properly. For this restoration, the Nike Dunk Low "Panda" will be the donor with its nearly identical sole, which has a black outsole and a white midsole.

The suede is brought back to life as Vick airbrushes a black dye coat and rubs it using the Medium Bristle Brush. To protect the new suede from bleeding and any future damage, Vick uses the Reshoevn8r Water + Stain Repellent Spray.

Once the black leather uppers are set, Vick applies glue to the bottom of the uppers and the Swooshes to help place them when it's time. In the meantime, Vick stitches the Swooshes on and then grabs the heat gun to bring everything together.

Vick will rethread the midsoles after adding the new lasting boards to mirror the original. Once that's done, the day-and-night restoration is complete, making a total 180 on the pair.

With 30+ hours of work gone into the restoration, the job is finally complete.
