R8: Before we dive in, our readers would love to “get to know you” a bit better. Tell us a little bit about who you are, what your position is at Snipes, what is your favorite sneaker, and any other information you would like to attribute.
Snipes USA: My name is Samuel Holt Jr. and I am a Sales Associate at my local Snipes. Honestly, I have A LOT of favorite sneakers! I don't think I can choose just one, but if I absolutely had to I would choose the Jordan Retro 1. Personally, I love shoe collecting and I'm also a photographer / male model. I've been in the shoe game for almost 10 years and I've been doing Photography for almost 5 years. I just recently started modeling 2 years ago.
R8: Can you tell us a bit about Snipes ‘backstory’ and how the company got started?
Snipes USA: SNIPES was originally founded in 1998 in Essen, Germany by Sven Voth.
R8: What makes Snipes stand out from the competitors? Can you share a story?
Snipes USA: What makes Snipes stand out from the other companies would be the relationships with their workers and customers.
R8: What are the biggest moments in your store’s history.
Snipes USA: Well I've only been working there for almost a year. One of the biggest moments of the store, since I’ve been there, would be the number of sales after opening back up after quarantine. I was one of the first workers to be scheduled back in and we crushed it!
R8: Thank you for sharing your story. Can you tell us a little bit about your business? What are your store’s specialties?
Snipes USA: Some of our store specialties are the top shoes brand and apparel that we carry. Between urban clothing, popular sneakers styles, and our shoe care brands, you can't go wrong with stopping inside.
R8: What is your favorite Reshoevn8r product?
Snipes USA: Our favorite Reshoevn8r product is the Sneaker Wipes. They are the perfect product to keep your sneakers looking fresh on the go!
R8: R8: What are you having a hard time keeping on the shelves? (product or specific items?)
Snipes USA: Jordan 1 Mids of course and also all-white Air Force 1s. The demand is super high for those two specifically. It's always hard to keep a few pairs in!
R8: Do you have multiple locations? If you only have one, what is the major significance of it?
Snipes USA: We have multiple locations located in the East Coast region. However, the significance of our location would be our crew and our relationships with the customers. Our customer relations are what make us unique. We have talented staff members. From photographers, models, and shoe designers!
R8: Can you tell us about your stock? What do you see moving? What are some upcoming trends that you’re stocking up on?
Snipes: We have a wide variety of shoe brands. Such as Nikes, Jordan’s, Adidas, Pumas, Converse, Vans, Timberlands & Uggs. The most popular in our stores would be the essential all-white Air Force 1s, Jordan 1 Mids, Timberland Boots & Men’s Uggs.
R8: Let’s dive into sneaker culture, really quick. Where do you see sneaker culture going in the future and what are your thoughts?
Snipes USA: I honestly feel like sneaker culture will continue to grow each generation! I feel like sneakerheads now around my age will pass down their knowledge to their kids. It will forever be a never-ending cycle.
R8: What is a sneakerhead? If you could describe this type of person to somebody who has no idea… what would you say?
Snipes USA: In my own definition a sneakerhead is someone who understands the culture and history behind a shoe. Not only is the shoe just a shoe but there's always a meaning and history behind what we decide to put on our feet. Someone who knows that and cherishes that is what I would consider a true sneakerhead. Collecting is one thing, but literally KNOWING what you have is another world!
R8: If someone wanted to start a true sneaker collection. What's the first pair that you would recommend? What pairs do sneakerheads NEED to have in their collection?
Snipes USA: I would honestly go with the all-white Air Force 1s or any Jordan 1 colorway. The all-white Air Force 1 is essential of course because you can rock those with anything. Jordan Retro 1 High is more of an iconic symbol. It's not just a shoe, it's a culture in itself. So those two are DEFINITELY a start in my eyes personally.
