Womens Best Athletic Shoes
Reshoevn8r is based out of Phoenix, Arizona. Right now, we’re in the middle of a heatwave, thunderstorm, and monsoon which leaves us plenty of time to think about our life choices. With a ton of time to spend inside, we’ve been able to track down some of the best athletic shoes that are worth the hype.
For me, I know I didn’t prepare correctly to be on the beach this summer. Instead of the freshman 15 weight gain, I have the Covid-20 weight gain. I’ve done the research, hired a trainer and now I’m on the hunt for the best sneakers to get ready for next summer. Because you know… you can never start too early.
We have to start somewhere right. This rose-colored sneaker by Puma felt amazing on my feet. It’s described as “snug, lightweight, and sleek” and I can attest to every one of those attributes. This sneaker is an active shoe that is great for running, exercising, and light lifting. The padding and Softfoam footbed really make a difference when you’re rounding the corner to completing your first mile. I picked these up for $40 at Puma and have been wearing them a bunch to break them in. With the white sole, I have my Reshoevn8r Sneaker Wipes on standby for when I get home.
2. Women’s Kinetic Rnegd Strap Sneaker
This sneaker really doesn’t have anything it can’t do. The lightweight, flexible and breathable design is amazing for intense workouts at the gym and when you’re on the go. The strap over the top ensures this sneaker is secure to your foot. The colorway is offered in three different neutral tones from a size 5-12.
I’m a fairly adventurous person, and this colorful sneaker makes it a little easier to hike the small mountains that surround the valley. The pink and green shoelaces, the green accents on the soles, and the overall slim design made it a great mid-day hiking shoe. I’m not climbing Mt.Everest anytime soon, but the Merrell brand has something for every skill level.
I wasn’t about to leave Adidas out of the running, because they’ve always come through strong in the past. I’m an avid thinker that “women can do it too”. The trainer that I am working with suggested we don’t just do cardio **GASP** but we weight train too. This sneaker is made for weightlifting as it hugs the foot and allows flexibility in the toes to make sure you have full balance from back to front. My trainer’s favorite part of this sneaker? It has a band across the top of the sneaker to prevent them from coming untied... Now I have to figure out another stalling technique.
Doesn’t the name of this sneaker just make you want to get up and move? The NERGIZE by NewBalance is an amazing entry-level training shoe that is lightweight, and soft on the inside. I put this shoe through the wringer and it passed every test. I used these trainers when I was interviewing trainers, and put through initial workouts with them. I love the mesh design on the front, paired with an elastic strap over them they stayed tight on my feet the entire time. I’m a little extra, so of course, I bought the animal print and was able to use these sneakers when I was out and about at Disney Land, and my feet made it all day long.
As I tried on over 100 pairs of shoes while doing my research, I was able to track down a couple of tips and tricks when you’re looking for training shoes...
- Shop toward the end of the day. Feet swell over the course of the day; they also expand while you run or walk, so shoes should fit your feet when they're at their largest.
- Bring your own socks -- the ones you wear while running or walking. If you wear orthotics, bring those, too. Shoes need to fit with the orthotic inside.
- Know when to replace them. The average pair of running shoes should be replaced after about 350-400 miles of use
